Some stuff for a comic I’m working on with punchbuggy! It has magical jerks, normal jerks, incompetent immortals and turf wars. It’s in early planning right now, but we’re having a lot of fun creating and playing with the world.

Some of the commissions I’ve finished from the last round. I was pretty busy with these for a while but they were a lot of fun! I’ll probably be opening them again in a couple of weeks.

PHEW, 2012 sure was a year. I’m pretty happy with the direction my art’s taken, and I’m more confident with animation. This year I wanna work more on environments and speeding up my art process.
2011 Summary for comparison.
(but first I’ve got to finish off those last two commissions…! thank you for your patience <3)
Onwards to 2013!!
Finals are in full swing and I haven’t had much time to draw for myself… so here are doodles from various classes. I usually take notes I swear.
Commissions time! If you’re interested in a commission:
- Send me an ask with your email, or email me at guzusuru@gmail.com saying that you’re interested in claiming a slot (there are 5 available)
- I will contact you asking what you would like, and once payment is confirmed I will begin the piece
- When the drawing is almost done, I’ll send a low-res preview to you and make small adjustments accordingly if you wish
- If you are satisfied with it, I’ll send the full-res piece!
I am comfortable drawing most things with the exception of NSFW. If you have a reference picture or a particular art style in mind, please include them in the email. Complex backgrounds are subject to price adjustment depending on how long they take me to draw. I think that covers most things! If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Thank you for your time!
Opening commissions again!

I’m not offering myself up as an authority on this sort of stuff, but I do think that analyzing certain pieces that you like is vital! Is your most favorite part of a given piece the color palette? Composition? Character design? Give some thought to each piece that you like and find out why you like it. You’ll probably start naturally integrating it into your art.
This is just my opinion, but finding a ‘personal style’ is usually a passive consequence rather than an active pursuit. You’ll pull bits and pieces of influence from artists that you like and they’ll combine into something new. A personal style is in the little things: how the neck connects to the shoulders, how an elbow looks when it’s bent. And the more general advice would be the oft-repeated DRAW EVERYDAY, but it really is essential.

Anon BELIEVE ME I know where you’re coming from, as does every artist that is, was, or ever will be. We all have those people whose art both motivates and demotivates. It’s tough finding a balance between thinking you’re completely boss and an utter hack. For example right now I am currently residing on the WOW I’M A BOSS HACK side of things, but it’s not a permanent feeling and rather than dwelling on it for too long I try to draw new things that I’m not comfortable with.
Truthfully both schools of thought are part of the process of refining your art! Feel confident in the things you produce. But also realize when your confidence has become detrimental i.e. you don’t want to improve anymore. If you look at an artist and think, “I’ll never be as good as that”, just remember that the very same artist is definitely dealing with those feelings regarding other artists. But what makes the difference is pulling yourself out of that rut and trudging on regardless. Because it all comes down to the idea that creating art is an exercise in catching up with your ever-evolving perceptions of what ‘good art’ is.
You’ll catch up only to find that your perceptions have changed, that your own mind has changed the rules of the race on you, and now the goalpost is somewhere in Moscow or maybe the moon. But don’t worry we’re all doing the same thing.

I just started using TVPaint and WOW, SO THIS IS WHAT IT’S LIKE TO USE A REAL ANIMATION PROGRAM. It’s like I’ve been animating with 10 pound weights on each finger and now that I’ve taken them off I can fly. So this is my first tvpaint experiment, 212 frames, 24fps.
I think one of the most fundamental misapprehensions people have about the value of commissions is that no one really gets told how mass production defrays costs to the consumer. So, when they see the prices for custom artwork online, they expect the retail prices they see in stores, and it…
And a process video. It’s a little low-quality, but at least you can get a sense of how much I abuse ctrl-z, and how I am really just continuously flying by the seat of my pants. This is about 50 minutes’ worth of animating condensed to ~9 minutes.

Another small update! I actually recorded myself animating this time, so that will be uploaded shortly.
Sup, thanks for watching my video!
For the most part I am actually animating straight ahead, despite the need for time sync. I usually allocate a set amount of frames in my head to get a specific action done and go from there. I’ll draw inbetweens when the timing’s off or if the action didn’t flow like I thought, but otherwise I just try to hit the milestone scenes in my head and make it up as I go. Like with these frames, I might go back and tweak the action but these were just sketched in a row:

eridan tho
woah ok so this is guzusuru’s??? and all of hers are here and OP should go source this????? or am I just missing it??????? I’m having guzu feelings I’m sorry
Oh, my animation. Here’s the original post, if OP would source that’d be swell.
Hey y’all do artists a favor and source when you post, it’s a big issue. If you don’t know the artist, reverse image search with tineye or plug keywords into google. My animation is literally the first result when you google “homestuck animation”. Every artist in existence will thank you I guarantee.
